Hidden along the rugged south coast of Victoria in a semi-enclosed embayment, lies a rich wonderland and one of the state’s most biologically ecosystems… Western Port

 

Shaped by mighty currents, great tidal surges and ancient riverbeds, the result is a mosaic of breathtaking habitats that are a critical refuge to life and are of local, national and international significance. Some are found nowhere else in the world but here on the southern shores.

 

Forests with snorkels, charismatic marine mammals who wear two fur coats, sunken grasslands, dragons that sparkle like jewels and epic migrations that rival Serengeti. It's one of the State's best kept secrets, that few know or have ever seen, until now.

We’re taking the colour and diversity of Western Port to audiences through an integrated multi-media campaign captured by the world’s best cinematographers, storytellers and scientists.

 

Through a book, documentary, travelling outdoor community exhibition, schools education kit and community resource library we're building the awareness and ultimately value of Western Port’s biodiversity and environments while developing a marine stewardship ethic within the community.
